Abattoir is a company, based in Brussels, that facilitates other companies to develop economic activities on it's site. There is a slaugerhouse, opened from Monday till Friday. There are about 40 companies based on site known as professional meat cutters. Each weekend, a large market is also held at Abattoir, visited by more then 100.000 people. You can buy fruit, vegetables, meat, fish, textile,... This market takes place on Friday, Saturday and Sunday, from 7 a.m. till 2 p.m. The redevelopment plans, dressed by Abattoir N.V., present major challenges for the Cureghem-quarter which surrounds it. A new food hall is under construction and will be opened from April or May 2015.
