About

Alpro is the European pioneer in plant-based nutrition for more than 40 years and creates a wide range of delicious plant-based drinks, alternatives to yoghurt and cream, desserts, margarines and ice cream based on GMO-free soya, almonds, hazelnuts, cashew, rice, oats or coconut. Alpro's products are known under the brands Alpro® and Provamel®.

Alpro is part of Danone and has its headquarters in Ghent (Belgium) and three main production sites in Belgium, France and the United Kingdom. Alpro commercialises its products in Europe and beyond, contributing to the further growth of plant-based nutrition.

Since 2018, Alpro has been B Corp-certified for its efforts to combine social and environmental objectives with economic growth. Based on a higher score at the renewal of the certificate in 2021, Alpro is among the top 5% of B Corps worldwide in terms of sustainability. This makes Alpro a 'Best for the World' B Corp-certified company in the 'Environment' category. An important encouragement in Alpro's ambition with new promises on health and sustainability: "Feeding our Future with Plants", launched in 2020. With commitments around two themes, Health and Planet, Alpro wants to contribute to a measurable shift towards more plant-based diets by 2025.

Outstanding: that is how the B Corp certificate describes Alpro's sustainability efforts. The score, which evolved from "great" to "outstanding" in three years' time, shows that the sustainability mission of the plant-based pioneer is still very much alive 40 years after its start.

Toddler milk Bambix from Inex takes its first steps on Chinese market

China is the second largest overseas export market for Belgian food and beverages. It is a market with many opportunities, but certainly not an obvious one. In November, the East Flemish dairy company Inex will make its entrance into the Chinese market with toddler milk Bambix via Alibaba.
