The moment is almost here: on Friday, July 26, the Olympics will officially open in Paris, and food.be will be there. As an official partner of The Lotto Belgium House, the hotspot for Belgian athletes and their supporters, we showcase the assets of the food sector worldwide. Because celebrating achievements, that is done with Belgian food and drinks!

Putting Belgian Food and drinks on the map

For seventeen days, not only will 122 top Belgian athletes represent our country, but food.be will also be there to promote our delicious food and drinks to an international audience. Because we can be proud of our food and drink, both at home and abroad! As official partner of the Belgian House in Paris, we look forward welcoming you at our stand from July 26 to August 11.

Bart Buysse, CEO at Fevia: “We literally put our Belgian food and drinks on the map. Belgium is known for its ‘classics’, the special beers, waffles, fries and chocolate. But we have a much more quality food and drinks to offer! Did you know, for example, that Belgium is the largest European exporter of frozen vegetables and fruit? And that we are a leader in the development of plant-based protein drinks? Our stand showcases the various sectors and food heroes who bring delicious and nutritious food and drinks to the table day in and day out. The secret ingredient? Our Belgian knowhow!”

Trending: alcohol free, gluten-free, vegetarian and recyclable

The Olympics are the perfect time to highlight current trends in food and beverages. For example, AB InBev and Brewery De Halve Maan are fully committed to alcohol-free beer. This fits perfectly with athletes who enjoy the taste of beer as part of a balanced lifestyle. Also, gluten-free food is here to stay. Joris Sweets is more than happy to join in with their gluten-free candies. The veggie trend is here to stay, as evidenced by the plant-based Manna sauces.

Salons

Coca-Cola has been focusing on reusable packaging and recycling for decades. During the Games it’s no different: reusable cups and bottles from 100% rPET will not be missing. In addition, of course, internationally renowned products such as those from Meurisse and Jules Destrooper cannot be missing from the Lotto Belgium House.
